LIT236 : Theatre Practice: Performance Two

Convenor(s): Dr Steve Nicholson, Dr Carmen Szabo

Please note: This module may or may not run in any given semester. Please check with the tutor.

General Information

Under staff direction or supervision, students will work practically as members of an ensemble, and contribute creatively and imaginatively to one or more aspects of workshopping, rehearsing, and creating a performance based on a given text or other material. The work will follow on in direct ways from that undertaken in ‘Performance One’ in the autumn semester, which was in part a preparation for this module.

Teaching

Staff-led and student-led practical work.

Individual and group research (including practical research)

Assessment

The assessment is based entirely on the student’s work through the project, including, as appropriate, workshops, rehearsals, preparation, work between rehearsals, the performance, and post-performance. This includes both the practical work undertaken, and the analytical understanding of it, and includes work undertaken within and outside official workshops and rehearsals.  An individual and/or group viva will contribute to the single assessment.
