LIT302 : Modern Literature

General Information

This course focuses on literature and film from the late 19th Century up to 1945, and in particular on Anglo-American and Irish Modernism. While Modernism will be at the centre of the course, represented by Joyce, Woolf, and Eliot for example, we will examine a full range of texts of that period and pay attention to the vast range of styles, issues, and aesthetic movements of the period.

Assessment

Assessment 1: A close reading examination worth 30% of the module grade.
Assessment 2: A research coursework essay worth 70% of the module grade.

Over the two assessments you MUST write about a MINIMUM of 4 authors/poets/filmmakers.
