From a given starting point – which will often but not always be a single playtext – students will work individually and as members of a group to explore different aspects of the material and its contexts, and its challenges, and potential for performance today. They may do so from the perspective of performers, designers, directors, technicians etc. , analysing the specific demands, opportunities and difficulties raised by the material, and considering ways of approaching these in the studio and through a process designed to create performance.
The work undertaken on this module will feed directly into (and form a starting point for) LIT236 in the spring semester.
